European Commission information brochure

In connection with Art. 20d of the Act on payment services, we provide an information brochure from the European Commission regarding consumer rights when making payments in member states, developed based on Article 106(1) of the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2015/2366 of November 25, 2015, on payment services in the internal market:

Thanks to EU regulations, your electronic payments are becoming cheaper, easier, and safer. Here are some examples:
– You can make payments virtually
in almost all of Europe (i.e., in the EU, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein) as easily and safely as in your home country.
– Merchants can no longer charge you extra fees for payments made with a card issued in the EU.
– The new regulations apply to all types of electronic payments (e.g., direct debits, credit transfers, card payments, etc.).
– Every person legally residing in the Union has the right to a bank account that allows for electronic payments (“payment account”).
