The Active Parent program supports parents and guardians of children up to 3 years old in balancing professional duties with parenthood. Thanks to it, you can apply for three different benefits, tailored to your family and professional situation.

- Benefit “Active Parents at Work”
- Amount of the benefit: 1500 PLN per month (1900 PLN for a child with a disability).
- Granted to parents or guardians of children aged 12–35 months, who are working.
- Condition: the child cannot attend kindergarten, nursery, or children’s club, nor be under the care of a day carer.
- Benefit “Active at Nursery”
- Funding for the costs of nursery, children’s club, or day carer care for the child.
- Maximum amount: 1500 PLN per month (1900 PLN for a child with a disability), but no more than the amount of the monthly fee paid for such a stay of the child.
- The benefit is not granted if the monthly fee for the child’s stay from October 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 is higher than 2200 PLN.
- Benefit “Active at Home”
- Amount of the benefit: 500 PLN per month per child.
- Granted to a parent or guardian who actually takes care of the child at home (child aged 12–35 months).
- The benefit is not granted if the full family caregiver capital has been used.
Who can submit applications?
Applications can be submitted by parents (mother, father) and actual caregivers, legal guardians, foster families, and persons running family children's homes. Benefits are granted regardless of the family's income. They are not subject to taxation or enforcement.When can applications be submitted?
Applications for the “Active Parents at Work” and “Active at Home” benefits can be submitted no earlier than in the 12th month of the child's life. The application for the “Active at Nursery” benefit can be submitted on the day the child starts attending a nursery, children's club, or comes under the care of a day carer.How to submit an application?
Applications for the benefit can be submitted through the electronic banking system of Bank BPS from October 1, 2024. After logging in, select the tab “benefits/applications (E-benefits)”, and then the appropriate application, in this case “Active Parent”. - Benefit “Active Parents at Work”

Good Start Program – support for all students starting the school year
From July 1, 2024, the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) started accepting applications for the establishment of the right to the Good Start benefit related to the beginning of the school year 2024/2025.
Applications for the Good Start benefit can be submitted to ZUS only electronically from July 1 to November 30 via the Emp@tia information and service portal at https://empatia.mpips.gov.pl/, through electronic banking, or the PUE ZUS portal.
Who is the support for?
The Good Start benefit is granted once a year for children starting the school year until the age of:- 20 years;
- 24 years – in the case of children with a relevant disability certificate.
The Good Start benefit is not granted for children attending kindergarten and children completing a year of preschool preparation in so-called “zero class” in kindergarten or school. The government program Good Start also does not cover students.
Who can receive support?
The Good Start benefit can be received by:- the mother or father of the child,
- the actual caregiver of the child, meaning a person who actually takes care of the child and has filed an application for adoption in court,
- the legal guardian of the child – a person to whom the court assigned care over the child,
- a student. A student is a legal adult student who: is not supported by their parents because the parents are deceased or has established alimony from them.
When and how will the family receive support?
Submitting an application for the Good Start benefit in July and August guarantees the payment of the granted benefit no later than September 30. In the case of applications submitted in subsequent months (i.e., September, October, or November), the application will be processed and the benefit paid within 2 months from the date of application submission.Payment of the granted benefit will only be made in a non-cash form to the bank account indicated by the applicant.

The government program “Family 500+” is the financial foundation of support for families. The program was implemented on April 1, 2016, and contributed to a significant improvement in the financial situation of families, strengthened them, and gave them the deserved priority.
From February 1, 2024, ZUS started accepting applications for the establishment of the right to the childcare benefit for the new benefit period 2024/2025 lasting from June 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025.
Important:
To obtain the right to the childcare benefit for the next benefit period starting on June 1, 2024, the application must be submitted to ZUS solely via the Internet through one of the three application channels:
- PUE ZUS Platform
- Emp@tia information and service portal at empatia.mpips.gov.pl
- electronic banking.
The childcare benefit is granted for a child until the age of 18:
- to the mother or father;
- to the actual caregiver of the child (i.e., the person actually taking care of the child who has applied to the guardianship court for the adoption of the child)
– if the child lives together and is dependent on the mother or father/actual caregiver;
- to the legal guardian of the child;
- to the director of the social welfare home.
Payment of the granted childcare benefit is made exclusively in a non-cash form to the bank account indicated by the applicant.
