Contactless transaction – a cashless transaction made using a card with a contactless antenna at a service point equipped with a POS terminal with a contactless reader. It involves making a payment by bringing the card close to the contactless reader without the cardholder having to confirm the transaction using a PIN or signing a receipt from the terminal. It works only for low-value transactions (at the Cooperative Bank in Szczytno up to 100 PLN), making a transaction of a higher amount requires PIN authorization.
The ability to not use strong authentication 3D Secure is in accordance with the Payment Services Act for internet transactions
