Contactless transaction – a cashless transaction made using a card with a contactless antenna at a merchant equipped with a POS terminal with a contactless reader. It involves making a payment by bringing the card close to the contactless reader without the need for the cardholder to confirm the transaction using a PIN or by signing on the receipt from the terminal. It only works for low-value transactions (at the Cooperative Bank in Szczytno up to 100 PLN), making a transaction of a higher amount requires PIN authorization.
